Allied Interstate Complaint - Allied Interstate needs to be shut down
MINNESOTA -- Two years ago I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. I got a new cell phone number and obviously this number belonged to a deadbeat. I kept getting calls looking for someone else, every call would show up as "Unavailable" or "Private." This makes it difficult to trace it back to them without going to your cell provider, my provider (SprintPCS) wanted $20 to do this search of my account to trace these calls.
Finally I got someone to admit they were with Allied Interstate. I did a search online and found that the State of Minnesota Attorney General's office did in fact go after this company for the exact same reason I was looking into them. They settled out of court but they seemed to just go about things in a more sneaky way, not showing where they were calling from and using overseas call centers.
Most of the time when these people would call me, I couldn't understand what they were saying and the minute I would get verbally abusive toward them, they would hang up. Their practices are illegal and the company should have absolutely no right to remain in business.
If Allied Interstate contacts you, notify your state attorney general and make a complaint, even if it's a legitimate debt, I'm sure they're doing something wrong even if they appear not to.
