Starbucks Compliment - Quality Customer Service
OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS -- We constantly here complaints about poor customer service, so I thought I would post a quick note about a recent positive customer service experience at Starbucks.
On Wednesday evening, 1/10/2007 at 6:45pm, I went through the drive thru of the Starbucks location at 151st & Metcalf. After placing my order, I proceeded around the building and waited behind two other vehicles. There seemed to be an issue with the 1st vehicle, sitting at the window. After a couple of minutes the employee opened the window and attempted to hand two cups to the person in the vehicle. For whatever reason, the person in the vehicle would not roll down their window and take the drinks. After a minute or so, the employee retreated back through the window.
After waiting more than 7 minutes behind only two vehicles (and not having moved) I pulled out of line, parked and went inside. I told them my order, that I was waiting outside and there seemed to be an issue with the 1st vehicle in line and that from my vantage point it definitely appeared to be and issue with the people in the vehicle and not with the employee. They gave me that "if you only knew" look, and handed me my drink. They said they appreciated my patience and the drink was "on the house".
I already had my money out and had no intention of requesting a discount for to receive it free. It's nice to run into a positive Customer Service experience these days and thought I would pass it along to everyone.
