Innkeeper Complaint - Refusal of product - Starbucks

Review by chef p on 2007-01-18
Recently, Starbucks was contacted by our armed forces in the Persian Gulf. They expressed their liking of Starbucks coffee products and requested some for their consumption. Keep in mind, while some of us may not agree with current events or support certain decisions by our government, we still have a moral obligation to support our troops. They do not have the final say regarding their duty stations! These men and women VOLUNTEERED to defend our citizens, our freedoms, and our beloved and cherished disposable way of life. At 18, these brave folks are eligible to sign their lives away on the dotted line for Uncle Sam, yet can't get a legal beer until 21! You would think that a popular company, such as Starbucks, could at least give them a cup of lousy coffee! I've been in the hospitality business a long time and am currently a working senior chef. I know where my caffiene is coming from these days, as do my friends in the restaurant business, and it AIN'T from Starbucks! I'm ashamed and appalled that I ever gave them MY hard earned money. From now on, everytime I think about a cup of Mocha Latte, I'll put that $4 towards a charitable cause to support the Americans who preserve my way of life and actively give a damn. Shame on you Starbucks!

That urban legend has been around for a long time. Next time check Snopes before you decide to boycott a company.

This poster is obviously not a 5-starbucks general!

Ha Ha Ha!!!! Thanks for posting that, Hugh. I've had to do it on multiple sites, now.

Good work gang! I hope visitors to the site realize we (the regulars) do not take things at face value. We will check things out.

Didn't this used to be about Target? The part I loved best about that urban legend is that they claim Target is a french business.

Chuck, you gotta be around a bit longer before you're considered a "regular"

My guess is the OP does not even believe it is legit. They either have a problem with Starbucks in general (so they post this in hopes of getting people mad at Starbucks), or they just like spreading crap to see who will bite.

Pirate, that was a somewhat tacky comment made to Chuck. There is a difference in a Regular and a True Regular, according to you Mr. King of the Mountain. Apologize and I'll bring you your milk and cookies.
