Complaint - Cancellation of service, membership because it's unusable.

Review by subjenkins on 2007-01-20
I bought my husband an MP3 player and wanted to subscribe to a service so he could download music to it. I thought I was buying just such a subscription, only they charge me $49.34 (was supposed to be $24.44) In researching it, I discovered there was a "prechecked" box for movie downloads (which I DIDN'T want) and that's what they charged me for. I immediately e-mailed them to let them know of the error, asking for a refund, then went ahead and DID buy the music subscription.($24.44) we're ready to fix up the MP3 player with music, and the software that came with the player is for windows systems only...I have an can't be used. We CAN'T download music for the MP3 player. So, I explained the situation again, in an e-mail. They guarantee satisfaction with their service or give a refund...stated in their website. They also promise to contact in reply with 48 hours of receiving an e-mail...I started on Dec. 27th and have yet to get ONE response from them. I have e-mailed them DAILY since Dec. 27th-no response. They provide no phone number, no address, so the only way to complain is via e-mail.

I'm tired of being ignored, and they've stolen a total of $73.78 from me.

Please help.

I found this on their FAQ:

"Do you have anything for Mac?
Yes we do! We offer the leading music and movie downloads for the Mac. The number of programs created for Macs is less than PC's, however, we offer the best programs for the MAC available."

Sounds like terrible customer service, though.

My research shows they are well known scammers. What they do is sell software that in reality is free. They lure new users into thinking that a subscription gives them the right of legally downloading copyrighted works (Unlimited songs, movies, Legal) which is totally false.

From McAfee Site Advisor: When we tested this site we found links to, which our analysis found to be deceptive or fraudulent.

I saw a recommendation that you call your bank to block any charges from them. They are reported to place fraudulent charges on credit cards well after a cancellation.

A few people have been able to get a refund but only after being extremely persistent.
