Best Buy Complaint - They'll screw you however they can!
BEST BUYS HOME TOWN!, MINNESOTA -- I bought a new Insignia (Best Buys house brand) 32" LCD this weekend.
I joined their Rewards program in order to get 12% off rather than the 10% from a coupon I got in the mail.
First off they tried to push a discontinued floor model on me that didn't have a remote or manual because they lost them and after I heard how bad the speakers rattled, I decided on the new Insignia.
We get to the register and I notice it was a 27", not the 32" so then the guy checks and they are out of the 32". Ok fine, I'll run across town to another store.
They had it! I ask the salesman about the interest free financing that the other guy told me about, he told me 18 months no interest. This guy say nope it is only 12 months. Well I know I saw tags that definitely said 18 months at the first store but not at the second, strange. I didn't want to argue, 12 months is ok.
So it get rung up, my coupon scanned, put it on my new BB credit card. As I am almost out the door, I notice on the reciept it says only 6 months interest free, WHAT?
So I go back to the salesguy who has to talk to some other guys and then they send me to wait at customer service so they can do a bunch of paperwork to get it to the 12 months, what a joke. Another 20 minutes gone.
Then when I got home I looked at the receipt again and see that I only got 10% off, not the 12% I should've. Screwed again!
I am going back tonight to get that additional 2% and give them a piece of my mind! I am also going to the first store that had the 18 month financing tags and getting the additional 6 months to pay.
I also had a previous experience buying a floor model computer. They never gave me the XP software disk, said they couldn't because of the floor model or some crap. So now I have best buy as the owner of the computer and can't change it. I bet they copy the same XP on many floor computers. (illegal!)
