BOA Complaint - Rate change

I know it's not Choice Hotels fault but it's for their hotels. I got a rewards card 6 months ago with the intro of 1.9% and last week it jumped to the new rate of 18.24%. So much for paying on time and being a good customer to both companies. I like many others carry a balance but at that high rate their wont be anything on there for long. So much for getting rewards points.
BOA says that's the new rate for the card and can not offer any deals.
Shame on me for not reading the fine print.
Oh well both of them lost me!!!

The intro rate was probably for 6 months only. I guess this is a rewards type card from Choice but operated by BOA. Since you are paying on time and therefore not delinquent it's time to go shopping for another card. Don't call around but visit a few banks and talk to the branch managers to get the best deal for yourself. Make sure you understand any promotional deals offered.

When it comes to finances follow this general rule: If you see it advertised on TV you probably should avoid it! Like PassingBy said, check with banks directly. Credit unions are even better.

I called again and they went down to 13.25% WOW And my 2 cents for credit unions. Been a member for 20 yrs and got a notice they joined a large service for their cards. Great for them but they upped my rate 1.75%. My rate has been at 10.5% forever. Never had late fees. Nothing!! So now I have to deal with those big companies half way across the country.
