ServiceMaster Complaint - STOP MY SERVICE!
PALATINE, ILLINOIS -- Regarding Trugreen -
For the second time in the last two weeks, I have received a yellow postcard from you notifying me that I need to contact you if I wish to stop my service. I do not understand this. When I was contacted in the fall (numerous times) by your harassing telemarketers trying to get me to have just 'one more critical application'... I notified them that I wished to cancel my service after that year (2001). I was told a message would be entered into the system and I would not be bothered anymore. Well, then I received a notice from you about saving money by pre-paying for my 2002 service... which would be 'automatically continued for my convenience' even if I didn't take advantage of the pre-payment discount. I called again and asked to have my service cancelled... fine, no problem. Then I got a yellow postcard stating that I need to call immediately to cancel the first application or it would continue as normal. So I called again to cancel (again!)... this time, when pressured by the service rep, I decided to just cancel the lawn treatment but to keep the tree and shrub service (my mistake). Well, I just got another little yellow postcard in the mail!!! Because of your ___ (fill in the blank with any or all of the above... ineptitude, inadequacies, incomprehension, deceitful service reps, unprofessionallism, intentional badgering, purposeful harassment, blatant disregard for customer care, explitive deleted, expletive deleted, etc... etc...). I am completely canceling my service effective immediately. There is no possibility of recovery for this account so do not attempt it because I'm passed wanting an apology. The only correspondence from you I expect is confirmation of my account being closed and all service stopped. I will never do business with Trugreen or any ServiceMaster affiliate again... and neither will anybody I know if at all possible. Since I have had no luck in canceling my service via phone conversations directly with you, I will attempt electronic communication. Also, please expect a copy of this message to come via fax and regular US registered mail.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
