Papa John's Pizza Complaint - Wanted personal check info on phone
ANYWHERE, MINNESOTA -- After much searching for coupons, and consideration and planning on what kind of pizza we were going to get, mind you it takes this family at least 20 minutes to decide what everyone wants. I call to place the order, and the Papa Johns employee asks me, "How are you going to pay, cash or check? I say with a check, she proceeds to ask me what the check number is, so I tell her (I had a feeling where this was going already) then she asks for the numbers on the bottom of my check. I ask her "What For?, I've wrote out a dozen checks there before." Needless to say I don't give that out account information over the phone. So she tells me "You have to pay another way", and I said, "fine, I'll pay with cash." After I hung up, I thought to myself, why should I have to pay with cash, they've taken my check any other time. So I write my check out, get it ready, the driver comes, I hand him my check, with his tip, and he doesn't say Boo!, except to Thank me!
How many of you, would of just gave your account number to them? Am I just being too paranoid?
