NCL Cruise Line Informative - Dirty ship - Baltic Cruise

Review by complaining cruiser on 2007-01-26
In the summer of 2004 we took a 14 day cruise to Russia on NCL cruise line. (The Norwegian Dream) We left Southhampton England with only 3 0f 4 engines operational. We learned only when we boarded that we would not be able to stop in Estonia because we would be slow navigating the sea with only 3 engines. In fact we were so slow that we lost our place in line to navigate the locks before we got to Berlin. When we had the double bed made into twin beds we found 3 half empty liguor bottles under the bed from the previous occupants. All drawers were filled with used shore excursion tickets. The carpets were filthy and the seats in the salon (where you watched the entertainment) were so badly soiled that you were afraid to sit on them for fear of ruining your clothes. The public toilets were black inside the bowl. The last staw to a miserable trip was that money was taken out of our drawers. I will not travel with NCL again and would never recommend the cruise line to anybody.
NCL needs to quit advertising on prime time tv and clean-up their ships.

Tell you what, I don't plan on taking ANY cruises for a long time after reading all about how many folks disappear from those ships over the last few years. Mostly women apparently, targeted by crew members... creepy. That compiled with the food poisoning... I'll stick to land vacations...

This complaint is a few years out of date.

Maybe the op just found this site. The website shows the ship at it's best, probably from 1992, when it was built.

Sparticus, you are so right. I was also thinking, how many people did their spouses in, and then blamed it on the crew?
