Strongsville Auto Service Complaint - Oil Change Scam

Review by CavalierDan on 2007-01-29
STRONGSVILLE, OHIO -- ...Watch out for these guys.... A buddy of mine took his '03 Civic in there to get a quick oil change. The location was convenient, and formerly "Gene's Auto Service"... I recommended it... Well, the new owners decided to not change his oil at all. The filter is a different one, but doesn't look new, and the oil is as black as the old stuff. Everyone knows oil isn't black when it's new... You do the math. I told him to give him hell, but he is kind of timid... I was p.o'd FOR him... the poor guy doesn't have time to change his own oil because he works so much, so he pays this guy to do it and he gets ripped off. BEWARE!!!

Thanks for the warning! Even if your friend doesn't say anything to them, they should still be told about it.

you're all very welcome! Ya know I hate to put people down, but I'd also hate to waste another 20 some bucks to try this again and have it happen again. He's also the same repair man who was quick to tell my friend that his "check engine" light was on and that he "could fix that". We already had the part (o2 sensor), and thankfully turned him down. ..but you can just kind of tell he's a crook... Have a good week!

It is hard to believe this story esp. being second hand. I have been going to this shop for years now and they are the most honest in town. They fixed an issue with my car which costs me $30 one time while the dealer estimated it for $1200. Drive by their lot and see it full always. People love this place.
