Lillian Vernon Complaint - Horrible Customer Service
I placed a order with Lillian Vernon.com on Janurary 3rd, 2007. I received a confirmation e-mail and number on the same day, and the following day I went to their website to check my shipping status, it said that my order would be recieved on Janurary 23rd, 2007 or sooner. I thought this was a rather long time to receive an order but I didn't need the gift until the end of the month so I didn't worry about it. On Janurary 24th, 2007 I had still not received my ored so I called them, and they told me that they had cancelled my order, due to the fact that I paid for it with an American Express gift card. They never bothered to inform me that it had been cancelled. I had already thrown the gift card away because I thought that the order was on it's way. I called American Express and they said that most places that take their credit card also take the gift card, so I had no idea that they didn't, and it does not say that they don't anywhere on their website. I have sent several e-mails to the company, and I have only recieved one reply, that was rude, and I think that they think I am stupid. I will never order from this company again, and I will tell everyone I know how horrible they are, now I have no birthday gift, and have also lost $50.00.
