Progressive Auto Insurance Complaint - NEVER USE PROGRESSIVE...THEY ARE A RIP OFF! - Auto Insurance

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- I purchased Progressive insurance in Sept.2006 and was pissed when my insurance when from $330.00 per month to $440.00 simply because I changed my address. I cancelled my policy online (which they claim that they didn't receive). I received another statement stated I owed $463.96 for the remaining balance, after I cancelled my policy. I called them and they basically told me that my insurance went up $330.00 for the address change(the move was not even a mile from each other). Now understand that the zip code DID NOT CHANGE. And then they tacked on another $106.00 because they claim they didn't receive my home owners info nor my previous insurance holder information, when all that information had been faxed to them a week after I accquired Progressive insurance in Sept.2006. I spoke with a representative, who tried to explain it to me, but still sounded like a bunch of BS to me. I told him is will be a cold cold day in hell before I pay this, simply because of an address change..... THIS COMPANY IS FULL OF &*#% and I would recommend that NO ONE accquire PORGRESSIVE INSURANCE, THE RIP-OFF INSURANCE COMPANY!

I hate the tv commercials for Progressive. They always ends with that song with the lyrics that go "this is how life should be"

If you moved into an area with a high level of claims for Progressive, it's possible to have a huge hike in rates for a move of a mile or so. Just shop around until you find a better rate.

Nothing beats dealing with a hometown agent that you know by name, even if it means paying a little more.

Same thing happend to me! We didn't even move that far and they still charged us and extra 15 dollars a month.

Your garaging zip code is a rating factor. Sorry I would rather pay for where my vehicle is garaged than pay a blind blanket price. Its not fair to think that people in one zip code should pay the same as another zip code! locations are different

agents built these crooks, and they have done nothing but steal from us, they cut our commisions, don't pay claims properly and then after all we did for them they try to push us out by selling online and putting us out of business. Buyer beware, if you buy progressive better have a good attorney on speed dial when something goes wrong.
