Dish Network Complaint - Putting the account on hold and AUTOMATIC reactivation
SOMERVILLE, NEW JERSEY -- Just keep in mind that your account will be automatically re-activated after 6 months even if you do not live in that address and even if you have not requesteed reactivation and Dish Network will charge you. DO NOT put your account on hold since the customer service rep. recommended this service rather than cancelling it.
I made that mistake. I thought unless I CALL and ask for re-activation, I would not be charged and my account will remain closed. That is what I agreed and double checked in my conversation with the customer rep. when I called for cancellation. Few days ago Dish network charged me $58.41 even though I am not living in that address more than 4 months and even though I have not asked for re-activation.
When I asked for a refund, they did not reiumburse me with full amaount but just $18. I asked for an escalation path and they said whom I am going to escalate which is the same question that I was asking them. I asked them to pull the conversation form their records if they can and check what conditions I agreed on. They said they do not have such voice records. I said fine just cancel and send me a confirmation letter that my account is cancelled. They said they do not do that. How about a confirmation number? Just the operators ID which consists of 3 letters???? VIW??? What is the legal promises here?? I think someone needs to initiate a class action suite for their ON HOLD account policies and not communicating the terms of their policies to the customers properly.
No trace of what they promise you on the phone
No escalation path
No confirmation numbers
Just be careful by putting your account on hold. Rather, do not be a Dish Network customer.
