Target Complaint - rude, uninformed employees; not receiving product
WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS -- Deat Sir:
I'm very upset regarding the behavior and misinformation given to my family on a recent sale item. A Sunday flyer advertised a 9' Memorex TV/VCR combo travel unit with a free travel tote. Albiet, the ad did say 'limited quantities', but when we arrived at the store at 10 a.m. to purchase the TV we were told the totes we out of stock. The employee gave us a raincheck good for one week only. We were told to also call daily for information of when the next delivery truck would arrive at the store. I called that very evening and was told no truck was coming in. I then called the next morning at 8:05 a.m. and was told not only did the truck just leave but the 4 TV totes that were on the truck were already sold. 'Ken' the store manager, at the Worcester, MA store, told me there would be no more totes received and it was too bad about my raincheck, because we were never to receive one to start with, sorry. We now must return the TV because it will be usless without the travel tote! I then called the corporate office to file a complaint because I had been lied to and in effect "blown-off", hoping I'd just go away. An employee asking me, 'So what am I supposed to do about it?' is unexceptable service.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I believe we should receive the travel tote so that we won't have to return the TC/VCR unit. What good is a travel item without all the necessary pieces? I'm willing to pay for the travel tote, instead of the free offer, just so that I may use the product as intended. I have the receipt and raincheck for proof of purchase. Any help I may receive will be greatly appreciated.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
