The Scottish Store Complaint - Fraudulent Scottish Store on Internet

Review by Cummings Clan on 2007-02-03
SCOTLAND -- Last May, my wife ordered a sgian dubh with my family's crest on the hilt for our wedding in May. The money was deducted from her account, and unfortunately, we did not receive the gift in time for our wedding. We understood that she may have been a little late, so we were not concerned, expecting to the see its arrival sometime after our honeymoon in Italy.

The merchandise was never received nor were we contacted (even though, the website said we would be). My wife attempted to contact this store through email and phone with no response for close to two months. We finally were contacted by Linda, and she didn't know the status of our gift and said that she would look into the order and get back to us. We waited a few weeks and tried to contact her again several times with no response. Out of frustration, my wife wrote a bluntly honest email, finally eliciting a response. Due to the lack of communication, promptness, and professionalism, my wife asked that her order be cancelled and money refunded. Linda said that she would cancel the order, but no refund has been given.

My wife attempted to force a refund through our bank, but the purchase must be within two months. Our bank contact says that many fraudulent companies will distract and delay until those two months are over in order to retain the money.

Clearly, the Scottish Store is actively committing fraud on its international customer base, and all potential customers should be wary of using this site for their Scottish merchandise.

Ruh roh, Marry in May, Rue the Day. At least, that's how the superstitious rhyme goes.
Congratulations on your wedding and if you've got any time left to shop around for stuff, I had luck with scottishkilts.net
