Review by white poodle on 2007-02-03
GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA -- American Electrical Company based in Calfornia. I had this company come over to my apartment and replace a breaker which cost $458.00 and troubleshoot a short on the 3rd outlet the short was found, this cost $851.00. The total time spent at my apartment was 1 hour and 20 minutes> I was charged 1209.00 dolllars. Consumers beware.

Let's see, $100 for a 'trip charge' plus $75/hr labor for 1hr 20min (rounded to 1.5hr) is $112.50 plus $13 for a 20 amp breaker plus $5 for an outlet (over 2x Lowe's price) that makes $230.50. Yep, I'd say you got ripped off. Next time call an electrician, not a lawyer! Did you even ask their rate before you allowed them to start?

YOU paid to have a breaker replaced in your apartment? I pick up the phone and call my apartment complex manager. That's the joys of apartment living--no upkeep costs--unless I cause the damage myself.
