Performance Saab of Houston Complaint - Don't buy from Performance Saab of Houston

Review by saab_disgusted on 2007-02-14
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I purchased a 2006 Saab 9-3T new from performance Saab of Houston, in Houston, TX. They were fine up until I had to bring the car in for service. That's when I started having problems with both the car and them. The car has been to the dealership so many times with so many different problems that I have only had to wash it myself twice in the past 10 months I have owned it. It has had problems from loud rattles inside that the dealerr told me to "get over"....to doors locking and car alarm going off randomly while driving which they told me they could find nothing wrong....to the manual transmission slipping out of 5th gear which they told me I must not (not anyone else who drives my car) know how to drive it...to it's stability control system failing. The car is a piece of sh**, but the dealer is worse. I've never dealt with a service department that wasn't willing to investigate the problem fully and fix it. They act like I am lying and that I am a burden to them. They are ignorant, rude, and don't listen to the problems. DON'T BUY A CAR- any car - FROM THEM!

That's what you get for buying a Saab. Don't you do the research before dumping cash into a car? Saab is a cheap GM brand that is in line to get canned once GM announces their profitability strategy in the coming months. It's a sh*tbox with leather, and what's even worse is that you didn't lease it - you BOUGHT it! Do you realize these things have a resale value worse than Hyundai, Daewoo and Kia? I would honestly consider cutting your depreciation losses now, and trade it in tomorrow for a BMW.

I love Saabs, I miss mine terribly, but they are notorious for electrical problems and mechanical failures.

This is old but did you find a new dealer? Also, Saabs are known for having the creeks and rattles - look on any Saab forum. The alarma was probably a short or a ground. Did you test drive it before you bought it?

As for the BMWs - they're great (although their Navi could be improved) however I personally prefer to drive something everyone else doesn't.
