Health Partners Informative - Patients private records are open to public

Review by ohh k on 2007-02-15
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA -- I'm employed by Health Partners and have been employed by this company for about 8 years and have worked both at a mental health facility and a medical facility. Both clinics I witnessed jaw dropping patient confidentiality rights destroyed by file room clerks, data entry clerks, medical transfer clerks, mail room clerk, receptionists, secretary, nurses, mental health therapists, doctor. Contacted immediate supervisors and corporate of all the patient confidential breechs I witnessed and heard. Never got any feed back. I'm surprised I still have my job. Oh, one more thing, All you folks insured by health partners: be sure to ask health partners about your medical and mental health records now being sent on audio, dictated and transcribed in the phillipines. If you value your privacy, you better wake up.

Why don't you complain to the medical board in your state or whomever enforces the HIPAA laws?

I'm unfamiliar with Health Partners but if the truth be known I expect we would all be shocked with the lack of patient confidentiality shown by many of these companies, law or no law. Spiderman made an excellent recommendation. Do the patients a favor and report this.
