T-Mobile Complaint - T-Moble the Tyrant - cell phone service and contract
PHILOMATH, OREGON -- I can't say all I would like in the little space avalible so I'll get to the point. T-Mobile ripped me off. I signed up with them they because were the first company I called for a comparrison. Their representitive made it clear I need look no further because "more people are switching to T-Moble than any other company and because they have the best rates and service" That sounded very good. I asked how their coverage was and was told "All cell services are the same, in fact they all use the same towers" I signed up then and there. Two new phones and renewed my daughters phone.
As it turned out I could not use the phone in my home or at work and dropped or didn't recieve more calls than were compleated and often would not recieve voice mail for a day or or two after they were left. I called to cancell and they encouraged me to let them fix the problem. This went on for several months. Since I need a phone that works to operate my business I aventually signed up with Sprint (who I love).
The next bill I recieved from T-Mobile included a $600.00 early cancellation fee. $200.00 per phone including my daughters who had been with T-Mobile over the one year required. If that isn't bad enough they later billed me another $117.00 restocking fee for a phone they sent me as part of their attempt to fix their problem. Keeep in mind that I never wanted or asked for this phone. I accepted it to try to work with them to fix their problem and when it didn't work I promptly returned it in good condition which they acknowledge.
Subsequent to all this I have written T-Moble (and recieved no response) and have had four frustrating phone conversations. I have found that T-Mobil representitives are always very pleasent and appear to be as helpfull as possible. The problem is that no matter how many times you get transfered to another person the bottom line is that they all end up telling you how sorry they are but company policy has no provision that allows them to remove or reduce these unwarrented fees.
So even though their service and equiptment does not work in my neighborhood, I called within the required 14 days to cancell, and they are billing me for unwarrented items,I am up a creek without a paddle. I appears that T-Moble knows that the time and frustration to litigate is more that most people are able or willing to persue.
I am truly sorry that these big companies are allowed to lie cheat and steal from us small potatoes working class.
