ShopNBC Complaint - return policy for Christmas gift

Review by lcliffordnet on 2002-03-12
EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA -- My husband purchased a gold and diamond watch for me as a Christmas gift in August. While there's a 30 day return policy on the back of the shipping slip, I've literally *never* heard of a company that wouldn't accept a return that was purchased as an early gift. (In fact I just had an experience with International Male where they took early gifts back purchased *a year* beforehand - exceptional service. While I wouldn't expect every company to go this far, I would expect this situation to be relatively normal.) Is this company really so rigid in their alleged service that they'd expect someone to keep something they'd bought for someone that they now know the person is unhappy with? Frankly, I'm flabbergasted. Plenty of people start their Christmas shopping early, particularly for special items such as this.

To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:

I think ShopNBC should accept the return on good faith. It's in pristine condition in the original box and packing.

At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.

Yes, I know how you feel about the return after 30 days. I thought about buying gifts early myself but decided against it bacause of the 30 day return policy.
