Carnival Cruise Line Compliment - Best vacation ever - Carnival Glory - Western Caribbean 2/07
VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA -- There are a lot of choices out there! We decided to sail on the Carnival Glory - Western Caribbean itinerary, leaving 2/10 of this year. This was a 7 night cruise, leaving from Port Canaveral.
Overall, the ship is beautiful. The theme for this ship is color. Every deck has a different color.
Our stateroom, which was a Cat. 11 (on the Empress deck) with a private balcony was better than any hotel room I have ever stayed in. Our room steward, Boni, cleaned the room twice a day, with turn down service, chocolates, and a different towel 'animal' each evening. I don't know how he did it, but it didn't matter what time we went to dinner, or, how long, our room was always spotless and restocked when we got back.
The dining service was exceptional, and the food was fantastic. Our wait staff never missed a beat, no matter how we changed or added on to our meals.
I only have a handful of suggestions/complaints. It would have been nice to have the 'adults - only' spa pools rule enforced. It wasn't difficult for me to decide between the spitting/jumping and nonspitting pools.
Although it's convenient, the use of the sign & sail card in the casino (to me, anyway) is dangerous. It is WAY too easy to spend, when you are not using actual cash.
I may be the last person on Earth to find this out, but, I wish I had known the pools are filled with salt water. Not really an issue, but it was quite a surprise to me !
If you want to spend a vacation being treated like royalty, never have to use a wallet or ID (unless you are on shore), and, have some excellent martinis, consider sailing on the Glory.
If you are a military Veteran, and still have your DD-214, you may qualify for a discount...I used it and saved a lot.
Please feel free to email me with any questions you might have!
