Dish Network Informative - Dish does not track returns you are liable
LAUREL SPRINGS, NEW JERSEY -- In late 2006 I upgraded my DishTV service to HDTV. This required a call to customer support. They arrange a box to be shipped to my home to return my existing device and a new HD tuner was delivered by the contractor who upgraded my service. I returned the box with the old tuner inside. NOTE: DISH SENDS A SELF ADDRESSED UPS LABEL FOR RETURN. The label says on the top in bold lettering "UPS DRIVER< NO RECIEPT FOR PICKUP REQUIRED" This is a huge liability for you. UPS claims the without the reciept there is no way to track the package. Since DISH is the customer and payee for the label you have no access to the tracking information, and all DISH has to do is claim they did not recieve the device and you are automatically charged $300.00 for non-return of the tuner.
Make photocopies of your shipping lables, tracking numbers and dates for at least 120 days. It tool 3 months before DISH claimed not to recieve the tuner. I have since filed a claim with VISA and the investigator has the SAME THING HAPPEN TO HER! So watch your statements ans bills.
