Performance Cars Complaint - No paperwork, no registration

Review by madmama on 2007-02-27
MONROE, LOUISIANA -- I bought a truck 8/2006 We were told it was still under factory warranty til 100,000 miles It had only 52,000 mi at time of sale 3 months later the transmission went out and the car lot wont return our calls We find out there is no warranty! Also at time of sale we were given a 60 day temp tag and were told our plates would be in by the time the temp tag expired. Since then we have still not received a license plate or registration Its been 6 months. Meanwhile the finance is hounding us for the one payment we didnt pay we had hoped to work something out We really cant pay $400 a mo payment , plus fix the transmission, when we cant even legally drive it! The Finance Company, CPS (Consumer Portfoloio Services) calls us several times a day..over and over again. they have called us liars, they have threatened to repo the truck ..they say if we drive it we will be arrested for car theft...they arent willing to even talk to us & when we try to talk they hang up on us they have even told us that it is obvious we have problems in our marriage We think CPS and Performance Cars & Trucks is a racket

As far as the tags go, you need to contact your states motor vehicle department. I am sure they would be very interested in your story about not recieving tags. As far as CPS goes you need to somehow make that payment because I know the company and they won't play around. Now for the transmission, what make of truck is it??? When the dealer refered to a 100,000 mile warranty were they talking about an extended warranty or factory warranty. You need to check your paperwork as some dealers will charge you for an extended warranty and then "accidently" forget to give you the paperwork. Good luck

Dealer's right, you need to keep those payments up. The finance company doesn't want to hear it. The last thing you want is to have the situation worsen by getting your credit hit or worse, losing the truck completely to a repo. A 2006 they come for quick, bad tranny or not.
