Review by 32031 on 2007-03-01
Are you tired of having to wade though those automated answering systems when trying to reach customer service? Here's a list of phone numbers of major companies and the button sequence to reach a real person. Some of the numbers go directly to a live person.

I find that if you keep pounding on zero you'll often get a life person. The automated system think you "messed up" and sends you right too one.

Thanks for the info, I've bookmarked it. Also brenda I have noticed that companies have made their stupid phone system hang up on you when you keep hitting 0 also.

I saw a report on TV once, that said if you keep SHOUTING into the phone, it marks you as a distressed caller and gets you to a human faster as well. I have no problem shouting at phone trees.

The easiest way to get a live person is to say and press NOTHING. These automated systems are designed to work for people who still have rotary phones. If you just let the machine say what it's going to say, without pressing or saying anything, it will transfer you. Pressing 0 repeatedly often works, but some companies have set up their systems to hang up on people who do that (seriously - I've had it happen to me!)

If zero hangs up on me I'll have to try yelling at the phone lol.

Good point adzidek... I've done that a few times. If no response "most" systems will automatically forward you to an real operator since they assume you have a rotary... But I've seen it not work on others... where they assume everyone has a dial-pad.

I didn't know that there was anyone left with a rotary service. I haven't seen a rotary phone in about 21 years.
