Frys Electronics Complaint - Sales Tactics with No Rebates

Review by tomp77478@aol.com on 2002-03-17
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- On October 27th,2001 I purchased a VAIO computer for $1099.00. An identically equipped Hewlett Packard computer was selling for $1049.00.The Sony however, was advertised with a $100.00 REBATE, which made the purchase decision final.I mailed the rebate info after three days, along with all pertinent documents to include the bar code label from the box, the sales receipt and the rebate coupon. Sony has never acknowledged receiving this rebate info. I then sent duplicates of all original receipts via certified mail. The request was signed for, but still I cannot get a response from Sony.I then went to the store where I purchased the computer (Fry's Electronics) and requested their assistance in getting my rebate. Their attitude was 'too bad'. I dealt with their 'rebate manager', a Mr Rudy Rodriquez. All I want is the rebate returned to me that justified the purchase in the first place.

To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:

refund the rebate

Thank you for your time.

most electronics stores don't care about your rebate after you purchase the item. I know. I work for Best Buy in computers and we are taught say anything for the sale.

As the rebate manager, I am aware of your situation. Your rebate check was sent here to our store by Sony, which in turn was spent by me for pain and suffering.

if the rebate offer came from Sony, then your beef is with Sony, not the retailer...
