Cingular Wireless Complaint - Poor customer care
CALIFORNIA -- I had taken a Cingular Go phone prepaid service. Their terms were that if I were to refill my account before the date of expiry, the balance will be carried over. I was carrying a balance of $80-90 range in the account. But on the day it was due for expiry, when I tried refilling, their systems were not accessible either through internet or through the telephone. As a result, I could refill my account only on the next day. I then found out that as a result of this delay, my entire account balance had been wiped out. I subsequently contacted their customer care, who after taking me around for hours, transfering me around from one person to another, told me that they had verified that there was a down time of their systems on the said date and they were doing what is necessary to restore my balance. I was told that it would take them a couple of days to update my account balance. I waited for a week to see if my balance is restored or not, but on finding my balance not restored, contacted the customer care again. After explaining the story to many and finally on demanding to talk to the Supervisor, I was finally connected to a person who claimed to be the top man in thier customer care call center. He told me that since I didn\'t renew it on time they won\'t be able to do anything. I told him that his rep had already told me that it would be restored in a couple of days and I am calling since that hadn\'t happened that way. On this he changed track and started questionning the veracity of my claim of having tried to recharge on the due date and ultimately, and very unpolitely ended the conversation.
