Home Depot Complaint - PRO DESK ANTICS
CHICAGO -- On 03/03/2007 i went to home depot at 2570 n. elston in chicago to purchase rock salt since i am a contractor and own 8 properties in chicago. i walked from one side to the store to the end to enjoy the exercise and to find salt none what so ever no cheap salt no expensive salt none. this is not the first time this happens but today i lost it. as i approached the pro desk for guidance the store was half empty so i decided to talk to the pro desk as i approached the desk 3 of the 6 employees gave me a nasty look 1 rolled his eyes they looked angry made me feel uncomfortable so i decided to leave with my worker. at that point feeling uncomfortable i didnt ask any questions since there are cameras there i thought i will file a complaint the manager needs to hear this, i call the complaint number the operator very helpful thought it would be informative to conference call the manager the manager on conference call took my suggestions and raised his voice over the phone and stared to question who did this did you get a name tag which employee made you feel uncomfortable but yet i pointed out look at the cameras take my name and nunber and end this. if you want to discuss this lets do it in person with customer relations thats my view anyway did i have an opportunity to say this no. you see frequently there employees when angry with the store will be very disruptive to the costumers. i guess so they can talk back and start a verbal fight in the store my guess is for litigation purposes to collect employee disability or to litigate with the store. i the customer am stuck in the middle of this nonsense with poor service and having the feeling of not being welcome in the store. the management team along with home depot need to screen their employees more thourougly as it it promotes possible litigation from the employees to the store, i on the other hand opt to walk away and not afford the employees the opportunity to cry or complain or file a suit against the store, my belief is all these above excursions if documented propertly are used by the employees and manager to incur litigation against the store. i even point out the manager as well since i tried to call and was berrated over the phone by the manager felt so uncomfortable and yet the call is being recorded by the operator. any way it shows that lack of management or control the store has on its employees when they are allowed to create a possible scenario or alienate possible future customers from the store.
