Best Buy Complaint - Deceptive Sales Practice
FREDERICK, MARYLAND -- I am writing to warn all consumers about Best Buy of Frederick's deceptive business practices. I have shopped at that store for years, spending thousands of dollars. I have always been convinced by the cashiers to purchase their "Product Replacement Plans" because I have four children. I have always been told any damage by kids is covered. Specifically if they "drop it" or "stick a sandwich in it". For the first time in four years we attempted to use that "Product Replacement Plan" because my son dropped his Playstation Portable System. This is when we found out we have been lied to all these years. The only things covered are manufactures defects. We went in and spoke with the customer service and the manager and they were incredibly rude and laughed at us. We told them if they would not honor their employee's statements we wanted to return all of our "Product Replacement Plans". That is what we did, for a total of $290. However had they just replaced the $200 game system, they would have kept our business. My two son's bought the PSP's with their own money and were convinced by Amber at Frederick's Best Buy to purchase the "Product Replacement Plans" in case they "dropped them". Now I have a heartbroken 12 year old boy, because Best Buy of Frederick lies to their customers.
