Consumer Credit Counseling Services Compliment - Debt settlement/Budgeting

HOUSTON, TEXAS -- They are also known as Money Management International.

I contacted this company to settle a bunch of debts I had. They are non-profit and keep the payments within your budget. Not only do they consolidate debts, they will help you budget and my counselor went through everything, including Christmas spending. I got a whole paper on my budget and how much to put back for each thing. You will get a workbook and education on mangaging your money. They will also tell you what to do about bill collectors. If debt consolidation is not the best thing for you, they will tell you what to do.

They do have some fees that are worked into your payments. A one time set up fee of $75.00 and then $40.00 a month so their people get paid. For $2,842.06 of debt, I have a payment of $139.00 a month, I split mine in half to $69.50 per paycheck.

Just remember, there is more than just debt consolidation, they also educate you and the counselor spent a lot of time on the phone with me going through my financial situation and then she sent it to me in written form so I could follow it.

If you have a lot of collection calls and are overwhelmed I suggest you give them a call. 1-800-873-2227. My counselor is named Ingrid and her extension is 4653, but she works nights, like 11 - 7 or something like that. They also have a website,

I used them also, to help me with a large debt that I had. They were very helpful, but remember while you are signed up with them it goes on your credit report that you are working with a credit counselor.

I think Credit Counselors can be a big help. As a debt collector who deals with pre-charge off accounts, just one thing to keep in mind. If you miss payments with the credit counselor, the bill collectors will call once again.

My credit is bad anyway, I think it looks better if it shows you are trying to get your bills paid off.
