Costa Cruises, Ship Magica Complaint - Cabin Noise

Review by pattyb on 2007-03-07
Do Not Book cabin 6353 on Costa Magica. They have a niteclub right below with loud speakers attached to the ceiling. The noise level in our cabin was unbelievable from 5 P.M. to 1:30 am every single day. The ship personnel know about this problem, but will do nothing to alleve it.

As if the poor food and crowded facilities wasn't enough to ruin our cruise.

A similar thing happened to me and my wife a few years back when we booked a trip to Steamboat, CO for skiing. Our room was right above the hot tub/spa room where kids were partying all night. Not to mention the room reaked of chlorine. We tried to change rooms... no luck. What ticks me off is that hotels know about these rooms and they don't give you any warning or discount.

pattyb, I don't know if Costa does this or not, but Carnival (if you book ahead enough) allows you to choose your cabin. You can look at deck plans, find your cabin, and, check what's above and below.

If you are planning a cruise make sure you don't book it with costa.i went on a 7 day eastern carribean cruise. listed below are reasons why.
1. food absolutely sucks
2. no crew member can understand anything you say
3. shio is so full you can't move around
4. pools are always closed
5. did i mention the food is horrible
6. definately not family friendly
7. dinner times very inconvenient
8. to be an italian ship it has the worst italian food i have ever tasted
9.no variety in the buffet
10. not enough activitys to keep you busy
etc...
this is only to mention a few. If you complain to the crew @ customer service they either don't care or they don't understand what you are saying i don't know which one of the two it was.

I know this comment is a year and a half too late but why on earth were you in your room by 5pm every single day? It's a cruise for God's sake. You should only be in your room to sleep which should be after 5pm and shower.
