E*TRADE Securities LLC Informative - Theft and privacy violations

Review by pwartist55 on 2007-03-07
E*TRADE allowed someone to steal money from my account. This was done even after telling them not to do the transfer as I had no account at this bank-Wachovia.

E*trade did nothing to get the money returned even when Wachovia said all they needed to do was ask for the money back. ETRADE allowed someone to change my account information. Becuase it was done online they said they could do nothing to assist me.I wrote letters to their CEO, their chief complinace officer and got no response. I filed complaints with the SEC and NASD and E*TRADE refused to give me the information even after the SEC,NASD told them to do so or face penalties.
I have had to sue E*TRADE.

How far along is your law suit?

That's bull...Everytime you make a change to your account, you should receive an e-mail or written notification that a change was made. That way you know if someone accessed your account.

I am very sorry this happened to you. It is happening to a lot of people. I am hoping the AG will bring a class action suit against E*Theft to stop it.
