ISUZU Informative - 2002 Axiom Bad Transmission/Poor Service
AUGUSTA, GEORGIA -- I have a 2002 Isuzu Axiom. It has the 10/120 warranty. The transmission started slipping at approx 90k miles. We took it to Gerald Jones Isuzu service in Augusta Ga. They told us it had a leak in the transmission so they fixed it and sent us on our way. Less then a week later the transmission started smoking, slipping and almost left us stranded. We limped home at approx. 15 mph. We had them pick it up and take it back to be fixed. They then told us that it would require a new transmission and they would get us some prices. We informed them that it was still under warranty and we were not paying for a new transmission. They said they had to request a new one from Isuzu. Two days later Isuzu said they would authorize a new transmission. We were told by the dealer ship that it would take 3 days to come in and a day to fix it. Well 23 days later (Mar 7, 2007) we still do not have a transmission to put in our car. We were told the transmission was back ordered and they would not have one until April, 9 2007. We said fine, being as we have been borrowing a vehicle for 23 days, give us a loaner car. The service manager Tray Bolin called Louie Romero (Isuzu) the zone manager and requested that they allow us to have a loaner vehicle. He explained our situation and that it would be another month before they would even have a transmission and if he would authorize it. Louie denied our request. I called Isuzu customer service and opened a complaint. They said that there was nothing they could do, once the zone manager denied our request that his word was final. I asked for his number so I could speak to him about the matter, once again denied. So a long story short, Isuzu’s transmission broke…no fault of ours, their parts were back ordered for over a month….once again no fault of ours, BUT we get punished for it! I will NEVER buy an Isuzu again and will warn everybody I know not to buy one!!
