Fredrick J. Hanna and Associates Complaint - Fair Credit Practices Act VIOLATIONS
MARIETTA, GEORGIA -- Fredrick J. Hanna uses strong arm tactics for debt collections and ignores the Fair Credit Practice Act. These guys are one of agencies hired by BOA to collect on their customers. I invite you to do a google search on this outfit as I did after I had to deal with them. COMPLAINTS, Fredrick J. Hanna ... Their bad reputation is plastered on the WWW and these are the kind of people Bank of America allows to deal with their Once beloved customers. As I said in another post that I had experience with BOA and they ignored fair credit practices. They ignored the Cease and Desist order and kept harassing and lying that they hadn't gotten the documentation that I have proof they infact did more than 3 times. This Collection Agency is even worse. They also have ignored POA and Cease and Desist orders issued by a Credit Counseling service. They continue to make harassing phone calls with the lastest threatening us with losing our home, having to pay their court costs and fees and basically making us (who had a mid 700s Credit rating) just last year, feel like the scum of the earth. First of all they are not allowed to lie or threaten people. They can't take our home. We are homestead protected. They really can't even garnish wages as our family doesn't have two parents working in the workforce. A single wage earners wages are 100% exempt at least up to the first 500 a week. They win their default judgements apparently because people don't answer the complaints or show up in court BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER SERVED! We never got anything in writing from these people. WE don't know if they own the account or not. I found out we have every right to see the paperwork. To know what they paid for the account etc and before we or anyone agrees to give people like this a settlement you need everything in writing. I once again gave them the Credit counselor information but they wouldn't even listen. They didn't care. They ignored. We have several attorneys who are willig to go after them for the Violations of the Fair Credit practices act. We all have those rights. If we do get served, We will be answering the case and going to court. No default judgement here. We will see what happens.
