Lube Lab Informative - Overcharging and Attempted Slamming

Review by SusieK on 2007-03-09
QUINCY, MASSACHUSETTS -- I went to Lube Lab, located in Quincy, MA, to have the oil changed on our car. The last time I had it done on this exact car, it was $32. This time, despite having a coupon and without them telling me it would be more, they charged $50. I don't think oil and labor have gone up that much in just a few months.

Additionally, both time they tried to sell me new windshield wiper blades, telling me the ones on the car were "old." Maybe the first time, but this time the blades were less than one month old. Please!

Same thing on the air filter.

Do not go there - they overcharge and they try to fool you into thinking you need more stuff.

Even $32 is a little steep for an oil change . . . I'd find another place to get the oil changed if I were you . . .

Believe it or not, I have had good luck at Wal-Mart. It's less than $20 for a basic oil and filter change and I've had no problems. But based on what I have heard here, I would check their work (look under the car for leaking drain plug and filter) and check the oil level before I drove away.

These quick change places make most of their profits from selling extras.
