Sprint Complaint - Sprint Customer Service
TONAWANDA, NEW YORK -- I have had a Spint Cell phone for many years, never behind on payments or anything like that..I drop calls all the time, updated my phone and talked to a customer rep, who offered me 150.00 rebate on a new phone 2 mo. prior to my acutal eligibility in lieu of the problems. I was on the phone an hour at least. I went to the store and picked out a phone, then went to the desk. They said although they saw the offer in my name, in the computer that they can't possibly honor the offer but by mail through customer service, I could get the phone with the rebate offered. I called customer service, I have been on the phone 2 hrs. so far. I was talking to a sales rep.for 20 min. after a wait of 20 min. when my cell phone dropped the call. He did not call me back.He did say he saw the offer on the computer before we got disconnected. I started the process all over. I was on hold for another 20 minutes. I then talked to customer svc. who transferred me to sales. Sales put me on hold and asked her supervisor who said she would not honor the rebate offer unless I got another phone added to my bill. I live alone, my dog doesn't know how to use the cell or of course it would have been a viable option. I told her the offer had been made, it was in the computer, she said she didn't see it. I asked for her name she gave it. I asked to speak to the supervisor and she put me on hold again and came back telling me the supervisor left the floor, on her break. Only 1 supervisor! would not give me her name. She transferred me to customer service and that number was disconnected, I got the number on the recording and have been on hold for 20 min. I got disconnected and had to call that number back.
When I first joined Sprint about 10 years ago, the service wasn't good but then it got much better. I guessed back then they grew faster than their employee # did. It was much better after that. The actual phone service is average, a lot of dropped calls but better than it used to be.
I know people that have Verizon, Cingular that can walk all over my house and talk without dropping calls, I cannot do that.
I am usually true to whatever company I join but I wouldn't ride a dead horse, so if Sprint representatives (the word meaning they represent the company, and the company hires them to do just that)are not honorable, then as a consumer you can never trust what they say...then what's the point?
I have verizon for my home phone, I have verizon for my on line service, so I might as well get verizon for my cell phone.
I am still on hold. I will give one more representative the benefit of the doubt but I do not have high expectations that Sprint will be honorable after now 2.5 hours on the phone.
I am a faithful, long term and very disappointed customer.
I got transferred to the retention department and I spoke to an extrememly nice gentleman who transferred me to Sal, who was more than accomodating....
so the moral of the story, is get transferred to the rentention dept.
