Dish Network Complaint - Dish Network made an illegal charge from my CC
LONGMONT, COLORADO -- In the middle of January 2007 I have found an unauthorized charge of $49.00 made by "DISH NETWORK-ONE TIME 800-333-3474 CO" at the end of December in my credit card bill. This charge came along with my usual monthly payment of $53. I knew that I didn’t purchase any additional equipment or services from the Dish Network, therefore I have called the Dish Network customer service (CS) and a CS representative told me that she cannot find this transaction in the computer system, and this is why she could do nothing about it. Thus, I just called my bank and told them to put this transaction under dispute.
In my February Dish Network statement I surprisingly found an additional $49 "Cc Charge back" adjustment. I have called the CS phone number on February 9, February 12, and February 13. I have heard many things from the CS representatives, like "You need to pay because we charged you", or "We charged you because you need to pay."
Finally, they canceled the programming service because of non-payment. So now they owe me two days of service.
I wrote a complaint to their dispute resolution department (certified mail, return receipt) in the middle of February. I have no reply by now, and no service.
Finally, surprisingly polite and competent SC rep. told me that this charge came from the main office and he can do nothing about it.
My bank rolled back the transaction by default (Dish didn't contact them at all) but they still claim this money via my dish network account.
I know, that $49 is not much actually, but I feel that someone have just stolen these money from my pocket.
