Agoura Hills Califonria Animal Regulation Complaint - The Great Wait - Rescue Efforts

Review by Alliebabah on 2007-03-13
AGOURA HILLS, CALIFORNIA -- How awful I felt watching a puppy locked in a car with temperatures ranging from 82 degrees for two and one half hours, not to mention how angry I was with the irresponsible owner who left their pet locked up in their Honda. Three calls later to Animal Rescue, one other call to the local sheriff's station, one trip to the shelter in a car to summons help, and one email to the local newspaper to complain about the animal control officer taking her sweet time, did absolutely nothing to get the attention or help from the people hired to assist animals. Exactly why do we pay taxes to give these county workers their paycheck? The staff on duty that day were nothing short of slackers. Next time, save an animal and do your job.

So rather then be upset with the person who left the dog in the car, you are upset with the county workers for not dropping everything to come. Did you try and find the owner of the car? Oh you spent the time e-mail the newspaper editor about the slow response time instead. Thanks for helping out.

I was wondering the same thing - how hard would it have been to run into the nearby businesses and try to find the car's owner? Also, the animal control people are just that - animal control - not puppy rescue. It's great when they can help, but they might have been tied up with calls when you wanted them to come running.

Actually, the management company of the building did go suite to suite asking who has the honda parked out in front of the building...but of course no one came forward. Not only did the management company go door to door, they also sent an email to every tenant in the building trying to locate the irresponsible owner of the Honda. On top of that, people came outside and taped cardboard in the front window to try to shield the sun from beating down into the Honda. So, yep I think a lot of people did a lot of things...just so happens the people who get paid to rescue animals did nothing in a timely manner. I would love to see their log book from this day to see where there time is really spent. Obviously they don't spend their time responding to calls. Makes me wonder.
