Circuit City Complaint - Horrible Service from Circuit City
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA -- On 1/13/07 I bought a open box high end HP computer at Circuit City. I made the purchase quickly as I was having problems with my old Dell computer and I was afraid those problems might escalate. The FireDog manager that sold me the computer assured me that he could quickly in 2-3 days (for a fee which I paid him)install my programs and transfer my data to the HP and that the HP would look similar and have the same data and functionality of my Dell. It is now over 2 months later 3/16/07 and I am hung up in between the two computers. Any FireDog process for such work seemed non-existent and their competence totally inadequate. They never listened to me the customer; instead they just launched into doing things. The system they initially delivered to me was a mess. Now 2+ months later I still can't use Outlook. Currently I have 5333 Outlook Tasks on my new HP rather than the 305 (+ 595 in Archives on my old computer. I have 1779 Contacts instead of 762. They claim that I should expect this and that I will have to deal with the issue myself. I should call Microsoft (which they didn't bother to call for help). For a while they also lost over 200 of my emails due to a problem between MSN connecting/synchronizing with Outlook which they admit they know nothing about and are not willing to learn about. The final thing is that I discovered when they delivered the computer that it formally belonged to someone else, whose name I will not mention. I cannot say I really enjoyed the previous owners financial records and his family vacation pictures and I am sure he wouldn't appreciate them being given to Circuit City's next customer. Yes, I am a dis-satisfied customer and that does not seem to be of any concern to Circuit City. What does seem to be of concern is incompetent managers listening to incompetent technicians and covering for each other.
