AOL/Netscape Complaint - Netscape 6 request for help ignored
Netscape browser. I recently updated the browser to version 6...for about twenty minutes. I disliked the way it took
control of all of my image files, rendering it impossible open them with the ease that I was accustomed to. I uninstalled
Netscape 6 immediately. Unfortunately, all of my image files (even most new ones) are still being treated as if they
require Netscape 6 to open them. (I get a window stating that 'Netscape 6 can't be found', and the file won't open).
I'm sure there must be some straight forward way to correct this. I have sent three emails over the course of two
weeks to the appropriate Netscape link. So far, I've received no response at all! At this time, I'm trying ACDSee on trial
basis to circumvent my inability to open the image files after netscape6 merged with them and refused to let go. It really
annoys me that I'm probably going to have to buy this software to overcome a problem that didn't exist prior to my brief
encounter with Netscape6. It infuriates me that the company responsible for this won't even reply to my requests for
help. All I want to do is remove this persistent link between my image files and whatever residual part of the Netscape 6
program is hanging on to them.
