BargainNetwork Complaint - Telemarketing Fraud - List For Foreclosed Homes

Review by mgshine on 2007-03-23
I called the 1-800 number from a news paper ad that advertised free list for homes in foreclosure. I spoke to the rep who said the list was free, that i would pay a fee of $1.95 For shipping. After i gave him my credit card number he then gave me the spill about becoming a member of several differient companies,he gave me the monthly fee and the 1-800 numbers to call before the 30 day free trail was up if i didn,t want it. I told him to forget it that i didn,t want a membership to anything and that i didn,t want the list at this point. The rep assured me that he would send me the list and that only the amount stated would be deducted from my account.Beginning 2/2007, the call was made 1/31/2001, deductions were taken from my checking account. I called the 1-800 number listed on my account and told the rep that i did not authorize this deduction. She said the money would be put back into my account and it was.3/5/2007, Several deductions were taken from my account including $39.80 And $29.95. I called the numbers listed and spoke to several differient people who each gave their id numbers.I spoke to two people who identified themselves as supervisors. I spoke to about seven people and i called about six numbers. They all referred to the subject as if i authorized the deductions. The original rep on 1/31 said his name was benjamin, i told each person his name. I also requested that they play the conversation between us on 1/31 and they will clearly hear me state that i did not want to be a member of anything and not to take any more that $1.95 From my account. The two supervisors said there was no one above them that i could speak with, nor was there anyone else that i could compplain to.I have a deduction of $39.80 From a company who identified themselves as bsg real estate.Neither of the people from bargain network knew who this company was.I called the 1-800 number listed and its not a working number. This company can take money again if i can,t identify them or find out who they are. This is clearly fraud,i would never authorize deductions for all of these memberships,as i stated to the people on the phone i didn,t know what i was a member of.I only received a list from bargainnetwork. They gave an address of po box 8540,goleta,ca 93118.Their website is www.Bargain.Com/homes.Please put this company on the website to make other people aware.M.Reynolds

Just call your credit card company, and dispute the charges.

I agree with the above posts. Also I would look into legal action against this company as someone at their number took your information and you obviously were the target of a scam. I'm sure your not the only one taken by this game.
