voicestream Complaint - Incoming calls greeted by busy signals or a recording
stating "all circuits are busy"
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I have been a Voicestream customer for a month now and have been having ongoing problems with incoming calls not getting through. Anyone attempting to reach me is greeted with busy signals. I have contacted Voicestream many times since December about this problem and have been given many different responses. I was told that a trouble ticket would be issued and that the problem would be cleared in 24 hours. Another Rep. advised that Voicesteam is having problems with their towers in the NYC area and there is no date of resolution. As I write this, the problem still exists.
What I find really disturbing is the fact that Voicestream has threatened to hit me with a $200.00 termination fee in the event I have to cancel my service for their lack of service. I spoke to a Customer Care Representative who told me that I would have to pay this termination fee regardless. I asked to speak to a Manager and was told that no one at Voicestream would be able to help me or waive the cancellation of service fee. The Rep. went on to say that a contract is a contract and that it doesn't matter why I am cancelling the service, the fee would still apply, even if the carrier cannot provide the services. She then advised me to "read my contract". This is no way to treat customers!
If the carrier cannot provide reliable service, then they are not meeting their end of the agreement. Why should I have to stay with this carrier for one year if I cannot make use of the services I thought I was signing up for? In this situation, all customers should be allowed to go to another carrier who may be able to provide more reliable service without the threat of termination fees.
