Heartland America Complaint - Heartland America Sells JUNK...BEWARE!

Review by mrunpc on 2007-03-26
CHASKA, MINNESOTA -- I originally purchased a Panasonic portable phone set advertised in their catalog. Upon receiving it, the enclosed material indicated that it was refurbished and instead of a normal 1 year warranty, it was for 90 days. NOWHERE in their catalog ad did it specify this was a refurbished product. When I called them to return the phone(s), I was told I'd have to pay all of the shipping charges and a restocking fee. When I asked for a manager, he reluctantly agreed to send me 2 $10 gift certificates and refund my shipping costs, which they did.

Just to use the $20 worth of gift certificates, I later ordered 2 outdoor solar lights. When I received them the instructions indicated to place them in direct sunlight for 24 hours to charge before switching them on. After doing so, I tried to switch one on and NADA, nothing? When I went to switch the other on, the switch mechanism was broken and needless to say, it didn't work either. I have yet to call to scream at them about this latest experience, but if you know what's good for you, you'll NEVER deal with this company. What they sell is absolute crap and leftovers.
