EverydayFurnishings.com Complaint - Unethical Business Practices - bedroom furniture

bedroom furniture - Complaint
Review by Becca2018 on 2007-03-28
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I placed an order for bedroom furniture with everydayfurnishings.com at Dec. 1, 2006. I have been given every excuse in the book and when those ran out, I was directly lied to by the customer service person, Stan, that I had been working with for months. I finally cancelled the order on March 19, 2007. I am still waiting for my credit card to be credited. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I am working with my credit card company to try to get my refund. Please do not do business with everydayfurnishings.com !!!!!

I do hope that you actually get your refund!

Far too many online furniture stores are scams counting on unwary buyers. Just because an online site shows pretty pictures doesn't mean that they're actually going to be able to get that furniture and then sell it to you! Many furniture manufacturers and importers won't do business with unreliable online companies. And what if the furniture is actually delivered and it's not what you wanted or is damaged? You get stuck with the bill to return it (if you even can!) or get it fixed.

Your best bet is to work with a local store (no, I don't work for a furniture retailer of any kind) and order your furniture through them. READ your paperwork carefully before signing and know the terms of the sale.

Buying big ticket items sight unseen is always asking for trouble.

I recieved my bedroom from them as well as my mom who was hesitent and knew nothing about the internet. They brought the items in to my home, unpacked it and even put it together! We had no problem whatsoever and would gladly order from them again.

skynetjo, I'm glad you had no problems. I'm the original poster and still have no refund. It's up to my credit card company now. They tell me they have a way of "taking" the money back. As for my ordeal, I checked the Better Business Bureau before placing my order and there were no complaints. If you check with them now there are several. Seems as though they've gone down hill in a hurry.

becca, I also checked the bbb and all complaints were resolved. Additionally I checked several companies, big stores and small before hand and everyone has their story as well as their share of complaints. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, I love my furniture.

I have had similar issues with them and will never order from them again. I have been waiting on a refund for a month and every time I call, I am told it has been submitted and I should see it in 3-5 business days. After weeks of this, Stan will no longer talk to me or return my calls so I'm taking this to the BBB and my bank to get the money back.
