Ashley Furniture Complaint - Restocking Fee for Damaged Furniture Received!!
REDDING, CALIFORNIA -- We will never shop or recommend anyone else to shop at Ashley Furniture Stores. They have a policy such as a restocking fee of 30%, which we found out after we had a problem receiving our damaged tv entertainment center. We were told on several different occasions that the item would we coming in the store and each time there was an unexpected delay. Wanted to cancel the order on the third delay, but was told by the manager of the store that it would for sure be in by next week. When the item arrived 2 1/2 weeks late, it was damaged, and in several places. Asked to trade it for the floor model that we saw over 3 weeks before, ( we weren't able to buy furniture from the showroom floor as it is against store policy). When searching for the floor model, found out it had been sold to someone else off the floor a few days before. Back to the damaged item... and when looking it over some more, found 6-7 places (took several pictures) that it was damaged or had been previously repaired. We then asked for our money back. Then we were told there was a restocking fee, or we could wait 2-3 more weeks, as they will send this "new" piece of furniture back to be repaired. Said no, we want a refund, and only got 70% of our money back, and they kept 30% for their restocking fee. We've learned our lesson, and are telling all we know about our experience and hope they will avoid this Company and especially their lack of customer satisfaction....
