O'Charley's Complaint - Doesn't any restaurant practice good customer relations anymore?

Review by Anonymous on 2007-04-02
OHIO -- There was a time (back in the day) when I worked in the food industry as a waitress, so I am aware of what good customer service consist of. On a recent visit to the O'charley's restaraunt in Gahanna, Ohio I had the displeasure of discovering what poor customer relations consist of. First of all my order of beef tips was not cooked to order and when it was brought to the manager's attention, I was told he would be glad to get me another order. But, I was under a time constraint as I had somewhere else that I needed to be within 45 minutes, so I declined the fresh order, but said that I would be glad to take a rain check and come back at another time. The manager declined my offer and insisted that I either take a reorder of the same item or he would deduct the price of entree' from my order. I ended up having to pay for my salad and soft drink even though my entire dinner was ruined by poor food preparation. I vow I will never venture into an O'Charley's restaurant again. They may think, "oh one person won't be coming back to our establishment, big deal!" Well, it pleases me to inform the company that my relatives love to frequent O'Charley's after church on Sunday and I had been attending O'Charley's with them in the past. I no longer do and when asked why I decline their invitation to join them, I tell them that my last dinning experience was dis-satisfactory at that establishment and I no longer spend my time nor money there.

You seem to have a beef with them. Did you tip them? (beef tip joke)

I do not understand why you would choose a full service restaurant when you have a 'time constraint'. I think it's unfair to expect quick service in that situation.

They did try to accommodate you and it seems it just wasn't good enough for you? Tell me what do you think they should do when every one has different things they want done to make them happy?

Although, I don't like O'Charley's restaurants because the food I ate there (in three States) was bad and the service was not that good either. I just don't go there anymore and not because they didn't pay special attention to me!

Did you eat the salad and drink the drink?

Brenda, sounds as if they ate the salad, drank the drink, walked the walk and talked the talk!
