Ford Motor Complaint - Please help with windstar woes
FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON -- I am writing concerning a '95 windstar I purchased from Fugate Ford in Enumclaw Washington about two and a half years ago. We paid $13,500 for the van which we felt was reasonable. Unfortunately, we've just had to replace the engine due to a head gasket leak costing $4,000. The van has only 82,000 miles on it. A contact has been opened with the national service center (ref. #1584190452). I was told that their is an extended warrantee covering this problem but that I did not qualify because although the van is within the 100,000 mile limit (82,000), it did not meet the time requirement of 7 years. I have taken good care of the van and have saved the service and maintenance records. I have been offered no assistance by the dealership or the national service center. It is unacceptable for a well taken care of engine to need replacement after just 82,000 miles. The Ford Company has known that these engines are defective.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
In order to resolve this situation, the Ford Motor Co. should reimburse me for the cost of the engine replacement ($4,000).
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
