Cottman Transmission Complaint - Don't Go Here For A Transmission

Review by Crashfixr on 2007-04-04
NEW JERSEY -- I had my Transmision done at COTTMAN TRANSMISSION (LODI NJ) about June 05' I have a 96'Ford F-250 CrewCab 4wd with a 7.3 Turbo Diesel. This is a big Heavy Truck. There basic rebuild has a 1 year warranty..they do like an eight or nine step rebuild...but for extra money..you can get the upgraded overhaul that has an extended warranty..Being that the Trans was $2450.00 and I wanted to and paid an additional $500.00 to make the trans more durable and reliable. By having more parts and/or upgraded parts put in for a Grand total of $2950....I would have hoped it would have lasted more than 18 MONTHS..and about 25,000 miles (Mostly Highway) The extent of what they wanted to warranty is just the LABOR..and I pay for the parts...I've already paid for the parts..I paid $500 extra for parts...Why would I pay for them again!!!! COTTMAN TRANSMISSION couldn't rebuild my trans right the first time and they do not VALUE there customer's...So don't waste your hard earned money there!!!! I'm in the auto industry my self..I own an autobody shop...The hardest part in buisness is to have a customer find you..The easiest is to keep them happy !!!!

How long was the extended warranty for? If you are within your extended warranty period, file a small claims action against them.
