Tasty China Buffet Complaint - Manager is Discriminating

Review by sb49 on 2007-04-05
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI -- Tasty China Buffet at 5317 E Bannister Rd in Kansas City, MO

Do not patronize Tasty China Buffet at 5317 E Bannister Rd. I am a member of Canaan Worship Center and this restaurant is near our church.

We learned Sunday that the owner of the restaurant told our Pastor that

"You people are trouble and I don't want you in my restaurant"

Considering this restaurant is in a predominantly African-American neighborhood this was a really stupid comment but let's honor his wishes and make sure that none of our people patronize his business again.

We will see how long his business lasts without our people's money.

Pass this on.

Wow. He just came out said that? Just...wow.
Why would he set up a restaurant in a predominantly African-American neighborhood if that's how he feels?

There is more to this story.

So what trouble did you cause? Maybe he was not discrimating against your whole race but you people in general because you have been nothing but trouble in his restaurant.

SB, some of the congregation wasn't sneaking food out in "ziplock bags" were they? Naughty-naughty. *waving my finger*

There may not be more to this story. It appears that orientals and African americans have problems with their different cultures. I go to a Vietnamese woman to have my nails done and she has told me that they do not get along with blacks because "we work harder than they do and we make them look bad."

Shakra, it goes deeper than just cultures. I would like to hear what someone at an African American nail shop would have to say about this matter.

I don't doubt that it goes the other way. BTW, I am definitely not for discrimination in any way. I boycott places that have been known to discriminate.

Shakra, I agree wholeheartedly. However, I will not stop doing business on the word of someone that so and so business discriminated against them. So many times, people throw the race card when they don't get their way, or automatically assume the person involved of the other race is a racist, so they make a pre-emptive racial attack.
I will not do business with any place of business that it has been proven to me that they are racist. Then, it is not just me, but those I can influence.
