AireSpring/Global Fibernet Complaint - Overcharge for interstate calls
I subscribed to Airespring/Global Fibernet long distance service in 2003 for long-distance charges of 3 cents/minute for interstate calls, as a representative assured me on the telephone. I was overcharged by $245.92 for February and $369.58 for March of 2007 because I was charged 23.9 cents/minutes for calls to Hawaii! When I finally spoke with a supervisor at Airespring/Global Fibernet today, he said (1) that the company "did not consider Hawaii to be an interstate call", AS IF the company is free to invent definitions of "interstate"(!) and (2)I could not prove that a telephone representative told me in 2003 that interstate calls were 3 cents a minute. He also said my contract was for 3.5 cents a minute. I cancelled the subscription, but am owed a reimbursement of $615.50, which the company refuses to pay. I filed a complaint with the FCC.
