Tycorp Pizza of VA Complaint - Denied service by defamation of character, discriminatory and false accusations

Review by ANKH0466 on 2002-04-12
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA -- I placed delivery order to a Pizza Hut in Charlottesville, Virginia on this evening. When the order arrived
my 13 year old daughter and I approached the door to get the order. The order was paid for then given to
us The delivery man then states, “Oh, by the way my manager told me to tell you we can no longer
deliver to this address any more.” I stated, “why not?” Delivery man then says, “ Several sexual
language advancements have been made from here to several of our female drivers.” Then I stated, “No
way!”...Finally the driver tells me that I can call the manager

This happened on December 9th, 2001 approximately between the hours of 9:30pm and 10:30pm.
(Today is April12,2002) have received one(1) phone call out of eight(8) from my calling 434-589-4082
Area Manager/1-800-948-8488 Customer relations and another number that I can not find at this time.
Two phone numbers were given for contacting me.

On December 31st, 2001 (New Years Eve) approximately 8:30pm I receive a phone call from Area
Manager Gary Flynn. I thanked him for calling and asked him to brief me on what he was calling for then
I would tell him what really happened. Mr.Flynn did so, so did I. Mr. Flynn’s final reply was apologetic for
what sounds like to be an inadvertence on the part of the driver who reported for the claim (Because of
her size). Mr. Flynn’s resolution was that it was a misunderstanding and he wanted to keep his
customers and that the three of us were going to meet somewhere and discuss this issue to mute. I
spoke with Mr. Flynn yesterday by phone and he was once again apologetic for his delegating authority
to another source. Is this taking to long or should I go to another source “a step further”

By the way I have tried to order a pizza from the Pizza Hut on East High Street in Charlottesville, VA and
was denied service for such above reasons. Take my phone order for delivery, arrive with delivery, take
my money, my family receives the order delivered, then tells me what should have been said at time of
order placed. Is this right? Should I be entitled my twenty four dollars ($24) back and an apology to me at
my front door where all of this happened.

Hmmm. What exactly was said from your address apparently several times that was misunderstood.

Papa Johns also offers delivery, as does Dominos...

So your saying they had SEVERAL female drivers have issues with coming to your place, huh? I think I would have talked to them privately on this and not brought it up here. It does not appear you are the one who should be complaining.

Hmmmm, there is a lot more to this story then what the letter writer had to say. I'd love to hear the facts from the Store manager and his drivers.

I GET TIRED OF THESE FEMALES THAT THINK THAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH WHATEVER SCARES THEM BECAUSE OF GENDER. AND AS FOR THE GUY WHO PUT IN HIS REVIEW SOUNDS A LITTLE GAY AND OF COURSE "WHITE" NOT BLACK. LET'S TRY RACIAL PROFILING, IF I WAS "WHITE" THINGS COULD BE DIFFERENT BUT, I DON'T WANT TO BE "WHITE" BY AN MEANS NECESSARY. BLACK ALWAYS GETS THE "SSSHHHHHHH!" WHEN SOMEONE HAS BEEN MISTAKENLY WRONG WITH CHOICES. IF I WAS THE DRIVER AND HAD THIS COMPLAINT I WOULD BE FIRED,"YAKNOWWHATIMEAN". I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I WAS FIRED FROM A DOMINOS IN 1987 BECAUSE A CUSTOMER ACCUSED ME OF STEALING THE TIP MONEY " AN OF COURSE IT WAS A HONKY THAT COMPLAINED" JUST TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING BY DOING THE RIGHT THING BUT, I WAS BLACK.

GOOD LUCK IN THE DARK SINCE YOUR SCARED OF BLACKNESS - CAN STAND TO BE FACED BY A BLACK

AND TO TOP IT OFF I MAKE 50K A YEAR WHAT THE ****
DO I WANT WITH A TIRED ASS PIZZA DELIVERY PERSON
OBVIOUSLY THAT PERSON IS NOT MAKING ENOUGH MONEY - ONE JOB OR TWO JOBS IT DOESNT MATTER. I DON'T NEED TRASH BECAUSE MY RECEPTACLE IS TO SMALL.

THE OWNER OF THE LETTER ORGINAL LETTER

I LOVE FACING

I am disgusted with the way a shift manager has defamed a 13 year employee that has worked her way to shift manager and has been called names behind her back, POT HEAD AND calling her not smart for spending her money on avon. She purchases gifts all year round to give Christmas because she has worked 13 yrs. in your corp. and doesn't even come close to $8.00 an hour. I would call that a devoted worker and that makes you a user. JULIE B.MADE THOSE AND OTHER REMARKS ABOUT HER AT A BOWLING ALLEY TO AN EMPLOYEE AND PATRONS OF THE BOWLING ALLEY. JERSEYVILLE IL.

Where it states "Mr. Flynnís resolution was that it was a misunderstanding and he wanted to keep his
customers and that the three of us were going to meet somewhere and discuss this issue to mute."

I have never known a manager to "meet up with someone" to resolve anything...seems odd to me.

If it was one female driver complaining, then maybe it really was a misunderstanding. But multiple female drivers complaining? I think there is more to this story than you are telling us.

Yet another consumer only telling THEIR side of the story. I don't think that they would deny you service for no reason.
Posted by afrpennycentury on 2004-04-15:
Well. The "one who made the complaint." You "hate these females who think they can get away with whatever scares them?"

You might try making sense, first of all. But if I may try and figure it out, you scared "these females," so they complained.

Looks like you need to get another pizza company to deliver. Next, you need to learn some good manners. These things work.

Oh boy, I didn't notice the all caps comment from the writer. How can we commenters be discriminating against you when you never said you were black in the letter? Its also hilarious how you whine about prejudice, and then call one of the reviewers "gay". And I don't care if you make 50K a year. Just being affluent doesn't make you any less of an obnoxious creep.
